Joseph B. “Jody” Hanks

Managing Member

Jody Hanks is the Managing Member of Henson & Hanks. He has been practicing for more than 30 years and served in a General Counsel role for over 20 years for multi-billion dollar companies in the complex and highly regulated services and manufacturing industries. Jody has extensive experience representing international clients where he has shared his commercial leadership strategies to find solutions directly impacting the bottom line. He has left corporate life and returned to private practice where he can deliver more personalized attention to his clients. Jody has and continues to serve manufacturing clients who represent the global industry leaders in plastic and fiber packaging, construction materials, mining, utility producers and green energy. 

Jody’s expertise includes industrial, commercial, and residential real-estate. He has extensive experience in dealing with restrictive environmental covenants, land-fills, protected lands, and environmental use restrictions. Jody enjoys resolving easement disputes and also assiting in amending easements to reflect today’s ever expanding technologies and land-use needs.

Jody earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and his Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University.  He is a father of three and grandfather of two young grandsons, Beau and Phillips.  He loves his great dane, Cooper and volunteering for his church and community.
